The Smyrna Historical and Genealogical Society collects and preserves memorabilia such as photographs, letters, documents, oral histories, family histories, genealogical information and other artifacts of historical importance that relate to the greater Smyrna area.

We also operate the Smyrna Museum and serve the community through other volunteer efforts. We publish a bimonthly newsletter, Lives & Times, and other occasional publications that document the area's history. We will soon embark on a long-range project to digitally document Smyrna's past and put all of our records on the Internet - a monumental achievement for a city of our size.

We need your help. We have no paid employees and all of our activities are carried out by committed volunteers. Funding is provided via donations from the public which are carefully spent to accomplish our mission of preserving Smyrna's unique and storied history for future generations.
